Horseback riding lessons and horse leasing

In support of social distancing, and in the interest of keeping everyone as safe as possible, Russells' Acres has made the difficult decision to suspend riding lessons until the threat of COVID-19 has passed. For those interested in leasing a horse, an evaluation ride and written safety test are being used at this time.

The horses Russells' Acres acquires to rehabilitate and train for its horseback riding lessons and horse leasing programs remain in our custody.

It begins with lessons. Students learn, not only to ride, but to also safely handle, groom, and tack up. Once a student demonstrates that they have a good rapport with a particular horse and can safely handle it, they get to lease it if they want to.

Clients sign a release form that:
1. Has them acknowledge the inherent risk of equine activities,
2. Provides emergency contact information, and
3. Let's us know if we can post photos of them with our horses.

Students who want to go on to compete are referred to another barn.
